I've been giving some thought to Pre-Fall looks this whole day. So i went and checked out most of the Pre-Fall 09 collections. These two looks from Rag& Bone would be the ideal transition into Fall. One could wear something like this from mid August to late September if one should be so inclined.
Do tell me that i am not the only one who puts thought into seasonal dressing .
What makes these looks ideal ? Take note of the shoe choice( closed toe), of the slouchy dark hats, the dark colors in the first look (from the left) and the fabric of the shorts on the right .
Because the temperature from August to September still ranges from 60-80 it is key to at least have your clothing exude "fall conscious" yet they shouldn't feel like fall or winter clothing whilst you wear them.

Choice of nail color is also key during your transition. Color speaks volumes.
My choice for dark nail color this Pre-Fall/Fall/Winter would be Revlon in Midnight Affair.

Being as astute as i am i have noticed that quite a few of you have taken a liking to over the knee boots for the fall/winter.You might want to pick up a pair of these babies by September at the latest lest you find yourself missing out on this fabulous trend and without a boot in your size.

Catch Up With My Mind

Sorry about the messy hair guys, i swear i had it nice and straight prior to entering the Silent Barn last night. I went to see one of my favorite bands, Tyvek, but sadly i missed them yet again. I just couldn't wait it was 12:30 and i was already feeling faint so we went home. Tyvek! you guys have managed to elude me once again but not for long!

Today me and laritza went thrifting at Buffalo Exchange, well actually Laritza went thrifting and i stood around and watched . But don't pity me, I'm the one who didn't bother getting a plan B for that summer job, which I am still waiting on . Therefore it's my fault i don't have money to shop and i deserve what i get!

This is Laritza in the picture by the way. Since i know a lot of you still don't know our names .
I loved the purse and the shirt equally. I mean if that isn't the perfect white shirt for the summer, then .... (i don't know where i am going with that one ).

I haven't been posting as much as i would like lately . I've been running around doing things that i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy .
Long line at the DMV anyone?
no? How about an hour wait at the doctor's office?
Any way i decided today was as good a day for boots in summer as it can get. 70 degrees and windy, hope no one gives me a funny look. I just couldn't help throwing the fringe boots on and looking like my version of pocahontas. You guys understand right?

Have the right attitude and confidence and you can pull off anything.
And you my chicly blogger friends have pulled off all kinds of things from summer boots to lace bell bottoms .

When trying to get into the "cooler than thou " zone i find it usually helps to make pretend you are Agyness Deyn (or insert your own model muse) and listen to a really "cool" song like this one

Me and a few friends went to a JellyNYC Pool Party . Indie for everyone.



I got to see one of the bands i like , Crystal Antlers play. I love how the guy on the drums gets so wild and into the music . I've seen them play for a room of 20 and he still gives the same energy as a crowd of a thousand.

I doubt anyone would notice but that vest has three buttons . My photog didn't notice (grr JESS!!) and I'd been slouching on the bus for so long that the middle one came undone .
This is one of my favorite skirts . I found it at Beacon's Closet last summer , but i wore it once and it barely fit . I am glad to say that it fits perfect if not a little big . Cardio pays off i guess.

Here's a favorite band of mine. I like their attitude about music and i hear they are amazing live.

I am about to see the new Harry Potter movie, hope it's everything i dreamed it would be.

I started reading Harry Potter when i first moved to New York from Arizona.

I was a hopelessly shy and homesick 11 year old. I must say that first year in this city was the one of the worst of my life. I was practically a hermit. I was bullied and teased about everything from the way i dressed to my reclusive nature.

My books were my only friends (cliche, i know) and i was particularly fond of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire .

It was literally the first book i read in NYC and the first Harry Potter book i read. My mom bought it right after we landed at one of the stores at the airport.

So this is what i'm wearing tonight.

wearing DIY thrifted Dress turned Romper , H&M purse and no. 704b heels
Today we went to the DIY or Die event at Urban Outfitters i had told you about . So i thought it was the best moment to premiere my Romper. What do you guys think? It wasn't too hard but it took some time . I almost messed it up a few times . The dress was thrifted and it was about three inches below my knee so i cut off almost two feet and sewed up the edges . They short legs have a slight bubble look which i made myself and i'm pretty proud of myself for not screwing this up.



Here are a few of the DIY extraordinaires ! The Six Six Sick Girls wearing their flower DIY Skirts and Jeralyn from I'll Wear Any Color As Long As It's Black near her studded DIY dress. It was a fun time over all,we felt a bit snubbed though because we were the only ones who didnt get a gift bag . But oh well, we weren't in it for the goods.

I've been seeing beautiful white crochet dresses on a lot of blogs ( you know who you are!).

So i dug this old rag out and wore some black biker shorts under to take it out for a stroll.

It hasn't seen the light of day since last summer . it's been very hot but comfortable in NYC lately so hopefully i'll get out to the beach soon.

This is something i tried on for a laugh when i went thrifting two days ago . I've never felt more like a princess ;)

Great News for the damsels this week we have been invited to attend the DIY or Die Workshop at Urban Outfittters. We are so excited and can't wait to learn new DIY skills.

Looking at these pictures i realize that i didn't show the shape of the wedges too well. A side view is necessary to fully appreciate any shoe. Not much going on today i got some really good news and hopefully my luck will be looking up from now on , or at least for a little while .
Yesterday i ruined a dress when i tried turning it into a romper . Why didn't i think to measure the crotch ? I couldn't get it on but my sewing skills have improved at least . I will not give up on the dress to romper DIY and you will see it soon .

This is Camera Obscura's new album , maybe some of you are acquainted with their music ? Sometimes i feel like I'm speaking a different language when i talk to others about bands i like.This is one of my favorite albums of the year. I loved the album art so much that it inspired our now infamous (I kid) Header.
This album has been labeled "The Milk and Cookies" album by both my bf and laritza.
Therefore i suggest having some cookies nearby when you click play.

Shoot My Name Up Every Vein

I really don't like to post more than a handful of pictures but on this day i hope you will indulge me . So here is what a wore , pretty simple , pretty laidback. Now on to some more interesting Ladies' fashion on the second day of the Woodsist/Captured Tracks Festival

The location was pretty awesome . The M train kept passing over us and people were checking us out from inside the cars . My bf ran into an old friend from college,the music was EXCELLENT although one of my favorite bands didn't show (Tyvek i am very disappointed!).



Here are the Vivian Girls (minus their drummer who was too far back to be captured). Alli (the blonde) looked so gorgeous and what is sexier than a hot chick playing the guitar while tossing her hair?? She was rocking out so hard she broke a string, as you can see on the last picture on the left she is no longer using the white guitar or is that a bass (??) I loved Cassie's* floral dress.



My favorite performance of the day was from Dee Dee of the Dum Dum Girls . I just love her music and was excited to find out she is gorgeous and had nice style. Check out the fringe on her sleeves! Considering this was her first performance she did a fantastic job.
