Women's Automatic Watch

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I've been looking for a nice watch for my boyfriend ever since he first mentioned it a few months back (right when we first met). He trusts my taste.
I came across this badboy a few days ago; it's the Orient cem65001m watch.
I completely fell in love with the color

"It's a solid frame watch,

sleek,
elegant,
and classy!"

- this a direct quote from that bf of mine, I almost thought he was going to go into full Rachel Zoe mode and exclaim "I Die!"
I would suggest it as a gift for your father, boyfriend or brother/male friend . Very fabulous no?
It got me thinking that i might want a watch that had a more masculine flair.
Which brings me to this

I'm having a couple of much needed days off. Today i got to sleep in and it was the best thing to happen this week. It reminded me of this quote in The Metamorphosis .

"Getting up so early all the time " he thought, "makes you totally stupid. A man has to have his sleep."

That's exactly right Gregor! It reminded me of this and i had to go look for it to show you all. I could not have put it better myself.

Before the weather gets the best of me I am going to keep on smiling and ward off the windy fall temperature. Its a shame summer is a mere memory at last, but lets not dwell on that. It's just so snazzy to wake up and walk out of the house with more layers and warm scarfs.
This month is dragging I cant wait to watch Where the Wild Things Are, Broken Embraces, and New Moon!
What
MOVIES do you guys want to watch?
I seriously update myself on these things through Nadia, she always recommends the best movies. Some of my favorite movies were seen with her, shes very insightful indeed. p.s Everybody should watch The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Meet and Meet, and Meet Again

wearing target shirt thrifted beaded vest and sunglasses

I'm so in love with these sunnies! I don't think you can tell from these pictures but they are circular in shape. I had been looking for a while for well priced sunnies in a round shape and right when i gave up on the idea these fell into my lap, funny how things work that way.
Life has been a bit hectic these past days, but i made time to go thrifting and found these sunglasses, a gorgeous wool blazer and a beaded fringed flapper style dress ( how insane is that!) which i'll be wearing for New Year's. It's probably a bit irrational for me to be thinking about New Year's but I always think ahead.
I have a few other items making their way to me soon and i'm so excited!

p.s. i'm well on my way to completing the Boy by Band of Outsiders look from the FALL RTW collection so keep an eye out for that this month.

Don't Be A Toy

I went thrifting earlier today, i believe the trip was a success. After buying some riding boots I was in such a jolly mood that i went looking for a new bracelet and a ring. It turned out to be one of my better ideas considering i haven't bought any in about a year.
I picked up this blue ring and ladybug bracelet from a street vendor in williamsburg.
I have a quick question for you all . You see i'm a bit clueless when it comes to the accessories as some of you might remember, so i would like to know if this lady bug bracelet needs a few more bracelets to make it complete or should i just wear it alone ? with a watch ?
i'm very interested in hearing how you would wear the bracelet or the ring .

I'm pretty in love with the lyrics to this song.

Guess where i bought this sweater.Arizona you say? Of course i say! When i saw it i lost my curly little mind, it was so stunning and original (at least i hope it is). I love how it looks like a Native American style sweater. One of the best things about growing up in the southwest was getting a more thorough knowledge of Native American history than the rest of the country. I still remember my childhood friends from nearly a decade ago, most were Native American (Hopi, Apache).
Don't mind me, I think about history way too much these days. I'm getting off subject here.
Sweater. I love it .

Ready for some of this in my life..

Coin-Operated

Jewelry Wish list
(or delusion list, you tell me)
I've been giving some thought to what jewelry actually means to a woman. The memories that might arise from a particular piece, the story behind it.
I was taking a random quiz yesterday ( i take alot of these) and one of the questions was something like "Do you buy jewelry for yourself or do you only get jewelry as a gift? (presumably from a loved one )."
Well i know I definitely don't go out of my way to buy jewelry for myself , and i would imagine when they speak of jewelry they mean the really expensive kind, the type you pass down to your daughters. So eventually, as often happens , my mind started to wander and my fantastical daydreaming began.
I was a woman who men would bring these precious gifts to. I was woman to be wooed, to be courted with the finest jewels on the planet.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
My first thought was pearls, because if i'm going to daydream this alternate life that will never exist for myself i might as well go as far as to say i am the type of woman who wears pearls or rather who can wear pearls. My choice of jeweler for this would have to be Mikimoto pearls. You may be familiar with them from the Miss Universe Organization, they were the official jewelery sponsor of the 2002-2007 pageants. The gorgeous pearls have also made appearances in Sex And The City.

As i was browsing through the large selection of Mikimoto pearls i came across the earrings pictured above.with heart stopping diamond accents. I could, perchance, wear them with a ball gown to some socialite event.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Here's an exquisite necklace that is not only breath taking but also benefits the The Young Survival Coalition. It's called the Mikimoto Pink Cancer Ribbon Pendant and it's definitely worth mentioning. It's beautiful and won't break the bank like some other pieces.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I definitely had fun dreaming up situations and lifestyles that would compliment these precious pearls. This ring would be my choice for an engagement ring . I know most women get diamonds but i'll be the exception. Who can look at this ring and tell me it's not gorgeous? Having this white pearl ring in place of a diamond one is my idea of classy eccentricity.

So there you have it . My wish list of pearls and a couple of musings. I'm pretty sure my bf won't appreciate the last one but a girl can dream right? Dream of her perfect engagement ring.

Leave It Where It Can't Remind Us

wearing vintage shirt, Ann Taylor blazer, keds and H&M bag
The weather has been exceptionally horrendous and the trains on the weekends are a guaranteed nightmare. On my way to an exhibition opening at the MoMA i walked right into a puddle and completely ruined my shoe . I know the idea was to eventually get them dirty and wear them like a Ramones' member but this is too soon! I didn't even want them dirty for this outfit.
Photobucket

The exhibits were incredible and left such an impression on us that we forgot our umbrellas.
That's the third one in two months! I'm pretty annoyed about that and about not getting some sushi tonight. So if you'll excuse me and my moody face, we're going to watch some old episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Hope your weekends are going swell ( I don't actually use this word) and that your umbrellas are where they belong.

Are you guys into this band? I'm not really into them but this song is pretty good . When i heard it yesterday I said to myself "finally i song of theirs i can actually listen to!" Just my opinion.

forever 21 shorts, dsw heels, tj maxx top

I am guilty of hunting down sequin items. I shamelessly wanted a top like this one for so long!! This lovely top is a great piece to add to my figure flattering collection. I feel fierce in this top and the shorts are well put together and feminine. This outfit did not require any accessories because the top was the main focus of attention. However I have been getting lazy on purchasing new pieces of accessories and the old ones need to complement my new vision this fall. Like the new chunky chokers or the pretty harness I want from etsy.com.
This week I am going to get serious about getting my hands on a few new accessories and some jewelry.

oh and special thanks to Rebecca from the Clothes Horse for doing an interview and a feature on us yesterday .
She's one of our favorite bloggers and we were ecstatic when she asked us to do this . We have over 20 new followers that i believe can be attributed to her post on us . Thanks Rebecca!

Get Yourself Together

Keds for Opening Ceremony
Image Hosted by ImageShack.usAlign Center
You want these, trust me, you definitely want to be wearing these at that late night show at the Knitting Factory or pull these on when you're late for class the day after with some skinnies and some ripped denim shirt/wifebeater.
They almost make me want to dye my hair "trailer trash" blonde like MaryKate (her words not mine). why? i cannot explain but this collaboration is so awesome it deserved its own post .
i won't lie i've known that these were coming out for a while thanks to my special inside source.
it's delicious to be an insider ;)

and of course here is a song for the shoes.

We Can Top the Old Times

This shirt is so dreamy, I felt like getting in on the white shirt trend ( every year they claim it's a trend!)

Here's my new favorite necklace. i'm still figuring out how to keep it from getting tangled. I keep having to pull it into position since the big piece drags it down on one side . But we accept our loved ones for who they are no ?

The photo doesn't do it justice but these were only a couple of photos taken hastily after our extravagant meal.

Churrascaria Plataforma
Me and the BF went to this restaurant to celebrate our time together .
Just by searching the name on google you can find tons of great reviews.
I'll give you my lame excuse of a review, although all that i feel like saying is "GO there it's the best thing ever!"
Despite our 8pm reservation we had to wait almost an hour before being seated. We waited in a large bar-type area with tons of others holding what my bf describes as "a taser". I stared at it the whole time willing it to light up in red so that we could be seated.
Meanwhile the BF mingled in the crowd. I urged him to buy more drinks all the while claiming that it would light up if only he bought another one, clearly i was delirious and delusional at this point (mad with hunger for all you can eat meat!).
Trying not to stare at the gorgeous Brazilian women that were crowding me from all directions proved to be impossible. Trying to keep my BF from staring was far more successful ;)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

When the "taser" finally turned red ( after the drink you bought, i told you babe!) i nearly jumped. After my bf concurred it was not a hallucination we hurried to the hostess and were seated. After choosing from a list of sides we headed to the Gourmet Buffet (pictured above) and filled our plates with cheese, bread, sushi and other. By the time we were done with our plates i couldn't contain the smile on my face, it kind of hurt because my face isn't used to all the smiling .

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
When we were done with the first course, our sides came quickly after and the meat rodizio began!
They carved everything from lamb and barbecue to ribeye and prime rib in front of us.
I nearly fainted at the first bite and i was so blissful that i didn't even care or notice when one of the servers accidentally dropped a tiny piece of meat on my new Kors shirt.
The tiny piece was so juicy that it left tiny brown spots on my white shirt . He apologized profusely (and by profusely i mean profusely). Two minutes later, another waiter brought by some seltzer water to get the tiny unnoticeable stains out and my night in heaven continued.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

By flipping our table cards to green we could enjoy any type of meat that went by. Every time i flipped it to red i felt like i was tapping out of a wrestling match :)

By the end of the night we felt we did well considering we could stuff our stomachs no longer.
Now we feel we could've eaten more .
This place is a dream and an expensive one at that, but my bf had no complaints . It was well worth the money and had the best service i have ever experienced.
We dined like royalty (perhaps of the Brazilian variety) last night.

hope you guys read all of that . Enjoy the music as a reward for taking the time:

Turning a new Leaf

dirty violet tee, urban outfitters loafers, diy jeans, messenger coach bag

Sometimes I feel I look my best in a tee and a pair of skinny jeans, dont we all? I like to keep my tee shirt the main focus, and let the other pieces be more subtle and less dramatic. As the summer comes to a close I know Nadia and I will polish up our looks with a little more of everything. Fall is the rebirth of Fashion.

Look Up

Photobucket

h&m blazer, zara basic tee, silence + noise tights, KEDS

Photobucket

The transition to my fall wardrobe is slowly replacing my summer shorts and tank tops. I really do love shorts in the summer, but adding these tights really take them to the next level..I have secretly always loved lace clothing. Its nothing to be ashamed of it's very feminine and elegant. The keds are clean and as seen on Nadia they really make an outfit laid back and ever so chic. They are the most comfortable shoes when your in a hurry. I swear!

Louis Licari in 5th ave was where I got my hair done by Ana a very lovely colorist from Forest Hills, Queens. I meant to write about them when I colored my hair but I miss placed the pictures. If anybody needs a good colorist and has the cash this is a GREAT place. My color was never more vibrant and I did my research on the name LOUIS LICARI
