wearing thrifted sweater, banana republic scarf, vintage boots and vintage bag

I had no idea what to call this bag i got a few months back ....anyone got a suggestion or know the correct name for it? Looking forward to Halloween this weekend, me and the bf are going to a party in Williamsburg. i'm going to go for a flapper look but with a mix of 40's in the hair and makeup though i'm not sure if that would make it a halloween faux pas but who's going to call me out on it?
I'll try my hardest to get good pictures of it, and show you guys this Monday.

but anyway there's not much more to say and why talk when the outfit speaks for itself and this songs says everything,

So Far, So Near

Before 90% of us were exposed to the Weardrobe meetup photos that were all over the blogoshpere during fashion week , and saw Krystal mingling with some of the best bloggers and most stylish girls in the country, I'd already been a huge fan of hers.
She has such an effortless way of putting together outifts and layering faux fur and florals besides she has the beautiful straight tresses that i've always prayed for.
I simlpy fell in love.
1. If you had to, would you rather wear Marc Jacobs or Balenciaga for the rest of your life ?
Oh, tough question right off the bat! While I do love Marc and his fun, fearless direction I think I would have to go with Balenciaga. The history of the house, the line, the abstraction mixed with pure forms of the clothes I think would better suit me for something as definite as well, the rest of my life. And plus, Jennifer Connelly looks great in their most recent ad campaign. And who wouldn't kill to look like Jennifer Connelly at any age?

2. Are you planning to be in the fashion industry?
It's a possibility. Currently I'm an assistant editor of a local style magazine. I coordinate, direct and style our fashion shoots and love every minute of it. Someday I hope to be a creative director of a fashion magazine (Conde Nast, are you listening?) but have entertained the idea of getting more involved in the actual designing of clothes. I guess we'll see.

3. Describe your style.
Another tough one. My style really changes all the time, so much so, that sometimes when I'm wearing something that I really liked a minute before, I'll get a new outfit idea in my head and wish I was wearing something entirely different. To sum it up in a nutshell, because you probably don't want to hear me ramble, I love mixing vintage with modern pieces, throwing in a dash of the latest trends (I try to limit myself there) and topping it off with more timeless accessories. My fashion muses include (but are not limited to) Alexa Chung, Sienna Miller, Chloe Sevigny, Audrey Hepburn (duh) and Kate Moss.

4. Who is your favorite blogger?Stumped me again!
I guess I don't really have an all-time favorite blogger. My morning routine, much to my boyfriend's dismay, includes jumping on the computer first thing to check and see what everyone else is wearing that day. So of course, I adore daily posts by Jessica of What I Wore, Katy over at Kansas Couture and Kelly aka The Glamourai. But of course, no work day would be complete without some more blog perusing. My other favorites include We Were Damsels, Le Blog de Betty, Karla's Closet, Later Afternoon, Song of Style and Adored Austin. As you can tell, I take my work breaks seriously.

5.Which of the outfits you've posted is your favorite?
Favorite? Well I try not to play favorites amongst my closet. My clothes get jealous of each other, which usually leads to mutiny. But if I had to narrow it down, I love the outfits that kind of pop out at the last minute. Ones that force you to take that extra step out of your comfort zone and well, turn heads, even if people do the "What the heck is she wearing" look. Because, let's face it, "safe" outfits never make statements. And life is too short. That's my two cents anyway.

wearing old converse, michael kors mens shirt and victoria's secret coat

This weekend was pretty lame as far as most of my weekends go. I missed out on all the CMJ shows (indie music festival). Still having trouble posting, god i hate my life sometimes.
.The weather has been a little odd in NY, so some days I'm wearing blazers and the next day I have to pull out my wool coat.I took a couple of quick shots before running out the door. This is one of my favorites because it keeps me warm and it can be worn with everything.

This look was inspired by an old Elle shoot with Charlotte Gainsbourg, it's one of the best they've ever done and I revisit it for inspiration time and time again.

Should've Taken Acid With You

Raez from Cheap Thrills
Photobucket

There are many reasons for why i obsessively stalk her blog, there is a separate window open for Cheap Thrills on my desktop every time i'm online.
One simple reason for all this. She is inspiring. I love her photo shoots and i'm sure one look at her blog will leave you speechless and unable to believe she is so talented.
And beautiful AND young.
But i bet most of you have seen her blog and agree.

1) How did you come up with your blog name ?
I love thrifting and all things vintage, so I based it on what I loved. And besides, going vintage hunting is such a rush, especially when you find some thing good!

Photobucket
2) Are you planning to be in the fashion industry when you're older?
Oh yes! Before I discovered photography, I've always wanted to be a fashion designer. But now that I've had more experience with photography, I think that it'll be the career path I choose. Either way, I know I'll end up in fashion--be it as a photographer, designer or stylist.

Photobucket
3) Which fashion model or muse would you most love to photograph?
Oh, this is a toughie! I've got a lot of favourite models: Coco Rocha, Sasha Pivovarova, Jessica Stam, Lily Cole, Abby Lee, Natasha Poly, Bruna Tenorio, Eniko MIhalik...I think I'd really love to photography Coco Rocha though...she's got great energy!

Photobucket

4) Fave blogs?
I really love Delightful (www.deeelightful.com) because of her fun pictures and clothes and 4TH AND BLEEKER, because she's a stunner with great style!

Photobucket

5) Which if the photo shoots you've posted is your favorite?
Ah, another toughie! I really love all of my photos, but one of the funnest shoots I've done so far was a shower one. It was hard not get my camera (Dave) wet, but I love how they turned out! However, my all time favourite photos would probably the warpaint set. Zoe did a great job with makeup, and I love how it came across in the photos!

One last thing. Raez has great taste in music. I almost never say that about anyone.
So here's one just for you Raez ;)

Today i wanted to head to an indie show, any show really, i was just in the mood. The bf vetoed that idea and now here i am blogging.

Tomorrow i'm going back for this fabulous fur coat i saw at a thrift store last week.
I've been thinking of that thing all week and now i finally have the money for it but i don't know if it's still there. That thrift store was (almost) in the middle of no where. God I hope it's still there! wish me luck.

Other things i'm digging .....
my new Interview magazine subscription, it's my new favorite magazine.
Art and Fashion. i suggest you pick it up and give it a chance if you haven't flipped through an issue already.

wearing OTK boots from ebay, target tights, eryn brinie sequin scarf, ann taylor blazer and H&M gloves
Haven't posted for so long. I was going through major withdrawals .
Here I am again! At long last!
Going to give a quick update on some stuff going on in my mostly stylish life.
Autumn has settled in nice and comfortably here in NY, I find myself shivering at night.
Life has not been too gentle with me this week but here I am still dressed and trying to look presentable. Looking unkempt can only make me feel worse about my day.

I spent another weekend with the bf. We went to see yet another amazing movie, went to yet another amazing restaurant .
I'm not complaining, I'm a creature of habit and these are excellent habits!

We saw A Serious Man. click here for reviews.
One of my favorite films of the year.
but there is still time ....

We ate at Bruschetteria in the Lower East Side.
Now one of my favorite restaurants ever.
Check those out if you get the chance.

oh and yeah those are over the knee boots.

I've been wanting to post this song for as long as we've had the blog, but now I finally have a look moody enough to warrant this mindf*ck of a song .
