wearing triple five soul sweater and vintage wool blazer

Did nothing this weekend, I didn't bother to step outside the entire weekend, only when i took these pictures, because the temperatures were so low they would freeze your fingers before you could say "Are. You. Serious".

But finally finally finally this horrible month is over, time for birthdays (sister and best friend), parties (DLB at Madame X) and dinners (valentine's!).

February is looking good.

wearing thrifted sweater, gap striped shirt, steve madden shoes, corduroy pants and thrifted belt

I've been looking so long for a pair of good corduroy pants that fit me well and they've turned out to be extremely rare. i almost gave up, but after seeing The Stylish Wanderer wear hers in a recent post my conviction was renewed and lo and behold.....
I was trying to go for a 70s look but i'll settle for close to 60s or in that range.

Tomorrow is officially the start of Restaurant Week in NYC, send me lucky vibes so i can get in a dinner this week at Apiary.
if you are interested in a list of participating restaurants see NYC Go

The Trend Marching Orders
as seen on Style.com
this is my favorite of those looks and the polyvore set it inspired:

WAR

finally i decided to try out polyvore and it's my new favorite pasttime other than pulling my hair out and slamming my head to the wall , kidding! but still.... january has been no picnic.
Why are all winters unkind to me ?
i'm still getting the hang of polyvoring but soon i'll be better at navigating for selection.
For those who asked here are the books i've read in the last two weeks in the order i've read them :
1.The Road- Cormac McCarthy
2. No Country For old Men - Cormac MacCarthy
3. The Reader - Bernhard Schlink
4. The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao - Junot Diaz
5. No One Belongs Here More Than You- Miranda July
now reading-- Factotum- Charles Bukowski

and looking forward to reading How Fiction Works, a manifesto by James Wood, and Bad Haircut by Tom Perrota later next week.

In Someone's Bed

Photobucket
wearing grey jeans, keds, uniqlo shirt, and random sweatshirt

Just been totally unhappy with the way i've dressed in the last two weeks which is why there have been no interesting posts.
I don't want to rant but school is kicking my ass right now .
Also i've been less interested in women's fashion and much more interested in men's;my favorite magazines these days are GQ and Esquire.
So i took a tip in this month's GQ and wore a collared shirt with a grey sweat shirt.
Another odd thing going on with me is that i seem to be devouring 4 books per week you'd think someone was paying me to read.
ah well, ive been so exhausted and unhappy with my daily classes that i'd much rather be in someone else's fictional life.

Like i said i have a really awesome giveaway coming up soon and i've been working on some trend watching posts on my spare time so there is that.

As soon as i return to my normal self i'm going to make plans to see these guys play a show,

Eyeliner and Cigarettes

Hey everyone ... I'm really beat right now, i mean absolutely dead. I need a vacation.
noy from blogging though but this entire week i've been too tired to do anything but get up and go to class. I can't even think about what to wear and the fact that i haven't been able to clean my room or do the laundry doesn't help.
I'll leave you all with a couple stuff i've been loving this week:
Annoying Facebook Friends and Profiles Humor: GQ.com
I definitely LOL'd at this -__-

How many of you have a Ms. Misery on your Facebook Feed?
or a Inspirational Quote Guy ?

One of my number one favorite blogs Roissy In DC .
Who says i only read style blogs?
The blogger, roissy is one of these guys that has a lot of "game". I don't buy into what he says but it's really entertaining and he writes with smart humor , wit and blunt honesty.

Really looking forward to watching Youth In Revolt, that video of him and the jersey shore really helped his standing in my eyes. I was getting so sick of him.

also looking forward to the Tim Burton exhibit at the MoMA, god only knows why i haven't seen it yet.

Also want tickets to see the broadway show RACE.

and of course i've been checking out everyone's blog, look for my comments :)

What are you guys doing this weekend? Are any of you theatre geeks ?
(sorry if that's offensive to anyone )

So If You Freeze Tomorrow

wearing vintage coat, michael kors boots, vintage blouse

This blouse is my absolute favorite right now, it just fits so right. I wish i had a better picture of the shirt but this was the best i could do since it was pretty cold out. I wasn't willing to take off my coat. But i'm sure i will wear it again sooner than later.

We decided not to go out and i was ok with that, but i was pretty devastated i never got a chance to wear my gorgeous sequined and fringed black dress. i might sell it if anyone is interested.
I just can't picture wearing it anytime soon.

There weren't any parties we were interested in so i spent the night at my Bf's. After having an incredible dinner at
El Paso– which by the way is the best mexican food you'll find in NYC though it still doesn't measure up to anything from the southwest or LA – playing Left 4 Dead and watching the new episode of Jersey Shore.
Don't judge..

Happy New Year!

perfect song to get off on the right foot this year:
