Thanks for all the packing tips guys, this is a scheduled post so i should be on my trip already !

i will make sure to roll up the clothing and also to wear my biggest shoes on the way there.

just wanted to share some photos i took at my bf's new place which is still a work in progress, when i got him a photo canvas of one of his artworks he was ecstatic since he rarely gets to see any of it off the computer screen.

To Be Alone With Me, You Went Up On A Tree

Hey guys, i'm finally on spring break so i'm headed upstate for a day or two and then i'm heading to Niagra Falls with a bunch of friends. One of them is an aspiring photographer so i'll be taking plenty of pictures.

any advice on how to pack all of my outfits?

i am so bad at packing, i always forget something.

Also, i read this article in The New Yorker about Polyvore which i know most style bloggers use, it's really interesting. I got so excited when i saw it, it kind of made my day in a weird way. now i'm rhyming. It's basically about how Polyvore gives everyone a chance to be fashion editors, which of course is why we love it. click the link to read it :

i have never been more entertained by a lady's bum.

and the song isn't bad either.

The weekend is shaping up kind of boring since i have all this work to do and an english paper.

I woke up at 8 am today, god help me, ( i try to never wake up earlier than 9 am) to go with friends to get some new sneakers at the store when it opened . They were pretty ok, but not worth waking up so early .

I bought a lot of cute clothing this week that i was eager to share but unfortunately it doesn't look like i'll be able to do a shoot any time this weekend.

It makes me pretty miserable though i try to remember the world isn't going to end if i don't post, besides i am in dire need of some studying, all those pricey text books i might as well read them.

But i will definitely get something up soon, and also early next week (think monday night or tuesday morning), i will be posting up a really good giveaway!

The Lightning That Strikes Down Your Tree

I've been toying with the idea of trying to learn how to cook. I've sworn so many times it was impossible . But i know that only impedes you from learning new things.

So when my bf pulled some sort of Krameresque stunt (the one where he and Newman go somewhere and buy huge cans of tuna fish just because they want to buy in bulk) and went shopping for tons of meat at costco.

i knew i had to cook the food in order for it not to go to waste.

sorry honey but you are not a good cook !

So i figured out that "cooking" can happen when :

a) you are a super anal perfectionist

b) you follow the recipe to a T

and

c) you prep the ingredients before hand

et voilà!

oh, what's that? you noticed i have new glasses?

they have the thickest lens ever, even with the extra $200 that went into thinning them. that will happen to you if you read 24/7. My ophthamalogist was like, "just look away, look away i beg of you , look out the window or something every 30 minutes."

well when you are reading about gorgeous chinese prostitutes, a dismembered husband, woman who are stabbed to death while engaging in intercourse and the yakuza, are you likely to look away every 30 minutes ? i think not.

So i said , you know what i can work with this, let's make them really big and really nerdy. soon i'll get some Lasik but until then i'm going to alternate between contacts and glasses

What was really hilarious was the lady behind the counter who kept trying to pry all the huge frames away from me and steer me towards some tiny rectangular ones. She was horrified at my choice stating simply "oh my god no! that will overwhelm your face." She even called over one of the guys working there to confirm, yes those are wrong for you as if that would change my mind,

i hate when perfectly unstylish strangers try to tell you what looks good and what doesn't so there you go .

Friendly Fire

Thanks for everyone who reccommended etsy shops my favorite was Dirty Betty Vintage .

The dresses that sell in this etsy shop are so amazing, it was an instant favorite .
I am still working on some other posts and i am growing steadly exasperated with my inability to keep to a posting schedule .

It's kind of driving me insane .
Let me just say i was thorougly pleased with the Oscar winners this year.
I thought Hurt Locker was excellent though in a perfect world A Serious Man would have won best picture.

I am just pleased with the fact that a mainstream movie like Avatar didn't win though i really enjoyed watching. Money does not mean you get the Oscar.
But this is just my opinion, though i am glad the academy shares it with me .

Best dressed for me goes to Sarah Jessica Parker in her Chanel couture and Zoe Saldana in givenchy.
worst dressed for me was Charlize Theron.

Argh

i have no access to a laptop right now since what me and my bf refer to as "simple tech" is in grave condition at the Mac store, meanwhile i twiddle my thumbs and take outfit pictures like a madwoman who holds onto a dead puppy and claims its still alive .

but at least i will have plenty to post once i get simple tech back next week.
